Man Vs. Woman, What's the Difference?

Even before we're born, we're identified as a sex. Boy or girl? We're raised with ideals that tailor to these specific details and it shapes our reality. But what exactly does it mean? Whats the point?

While there are those who stress about the choice of gender, I simply choose to accept it. I don't see the issue with being raised as a boy with male ideals or vice versa. On the other hand, I simply see it as a relation of social ques to natural hierarchies and genetic pre-dispositions. The importance isn't what gender you are or what gender you think you should be, it's what choices should I make now that I am a male/female?

In the rest of biology and nature there is little thought to gender simply because of the fact that in other species gender can change at the drop of a hat. The reason I think we stress out about it is because it's yet another thing in our lives that we feel we can't control.

What is Life Really? Exploring the Vast Possibilities

It's amazing to the extent that we think we know what life is. We have discussions like "What is it to be Human?" and "What is nature?" but at the same time we have no idea to the full extent that life is possible or even conceivable.

This video inspired this train of thought for me. This simulated exploration of man made probes on a vast and unimaginable alien planet spur the thought of "What is the REAL extent that life can be?"

The Role of the Creator

We have all created something in the time that we've been alive. For most of us it's those macaroni pictures in the 4th grade, and for others it's anything from adjustments to your bike or even creating 10x scaled models of toys from blue foam. Now most of these things are easily made and easily disregarded without any ill effect to the rest of the world, but what happens when a serious discovery is made and the creator doesn't care for their creation the way they should? What if like Dr. Victor Frankenstein we were to abandon our greatest creations because of fear and "leaping before looking" into our desires?

Dr. Frankenstein, from the Mary Shelly novel, discovered the secret to animating life to lifeless matter. Upon doing this he stopped at nothing to create his "perfect" creature from dead flesh. His rash decision to rush into production without thinking resulted in the creation of a demonic beast and a blight on humanity which would be of the ultimate cost to Victor and those he loved. It's narratives like this that make me fear for the future. In our present time, scientists are mapping the human genome, creating synthetic cells, and ushering in a new age of self automated and smart technologies.

My point is, are we moving to fast? Are we creating our own frankenstein monsters without even realizing it?
